This directory is provided by Golden Standards Company on Renal Nutrition as a resource to individuals looking for dietitians that treat pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients.

Early referrals to a Kidney Dietitian can help you with:

  • Slowing kidney disease progression and improving overall health
  • Optimizing nutrition status and preventing malnutrition
  • Better blood pressure control
  • Improving management of diabetes
  • Reducing proteinuria
  • Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight
  • Reducing stress and increasing the ease and enjoyment of eating again

What is Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)?

MNT is a key component of CKD education and management. MNT is defined as a nutrition-based treatment provided by a registered dietitian or nutritionist.

The Dietitian will provide a nutrition assessment, education, and counseling to help preserve and manage your CKD. The KDOQI 2020 guidelines recommend MNT for people with CKD 1-5 non-dialysis.

Insurance and Coverage Information

Medicare Part B & Advantage:

  • MNT is covered 100% for CKD Stages 3-5 and non-dialysis

  • Post-kidney transplant for 36 months
